This seldom seen vintage 1970's Hamilton day-date has an accented matte black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that under the damaged crystal is in pristine condition and the lume, which remains fully intact and no longer glows after being exposed to bright light, has aged to a perfectly matching warm buttermilk hue. This reference never came with a bezel. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with insignificant signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "STAINLESS STEEL - WATERRESISTANT" with "825011 -3" stamped in the center. The crystal needs to be replaced as it shows scratching, warping and chipping around the edges.
The automatic movement with quickset day and date keeps accurate time and both the day and date wheels roll over as they should. The quickset date function works by pulling out the crown to the first position and then turning it clockwise until the desired date has been reached. The quickset day function works in precisely the same manner with the exception of having to turn the crown counterclockwise. After winding the original Hamilton signed, non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement had a healthy power reserve of approximately 48 hours. The crown winds smoothly.
Watch size: 1,3 inch (36 mm) excl the crown, 1,5 inch (38,5 mm) with the crown, 0,8 inch (20 mm) betw the lugs. Case thickness approx: 0,4 inch (10 mm). Crystal thickness size: approx 0,5 inch (11 mm).
Given that this watch is more than 45 years old and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is likely long overdue and recommended.
