Ruth Bader Ginsburg TLS on Supreme Court Stationery

Ruth Bader Ginsburg typed letter signed, composed on her personal U.S. Supreme Court stationery. Dated September 19, 2007, Ginsburg writes to Lolo Sarnoff, founder of Art for the Aging. Signed "Ruth" in fine black felt tip, Ginsburg writes in part, "I am so sorry to miss the Arts for the Aging Gala this year. On October 18, I will be in Asheville, North Carolina, to speak at a meeting of the North Carolina Bar Association." Single page letter measures 6.25" x 8.625". Single fold, overall near fine condition.

Joan Ruth Bader Ginsburg (1933-2020) was an American lawyer and jurist who served as an associate justice of the Supreme Court of the United States from 1993 until her death in 2020. She was nominated by President Bill Clinton to replace retiring justice Byron White. Ginsburg was the first Jewish woman and the second woman to serve on the Court, after Sandra Day O'Connor.
