ANS and original postage, 5.5" x 3.5", March 19, 1930, Washington, D.C. Handwritten note signed "Oliver Wendell Holmes" during his time as associate justice on the U.S. Supreme Court. Holmes was nominated for the position of associate justice by Theodore Roosevelt in 1902, which he served for thirty years. He is often considered one of the greatest judges in American history, known for ruling on a wide range of cases during his tenure. Expected letter folds with light toning throughout. Boldly signed above bifold crease at middle.
