The leading modernist metal sculptor Albert Paley earned a B.F.A and M.F.A. degrees at Tyler School of Art, Temple University, in 1966 and 1969 respectively, and has been a Professor and Artist in Residence at Rochester Institute of Technology since 1984. An internationally renowned artist, Paley is one of the most distinguished and influential metalsmiths in the world. From his groundbreaking Portal Gates, 1975, for the Smithsonian's Renwick Gallery, to his monumental sculpture installations along Park Avenue in New York in 2013, Paley has been one of the most accomplished sculptors working today. His work ranges from jewelry, gates and functional objects, large-scale sculpture, and glass and steel works. Paley has created more than 90 public installations and his work has been featured in more than 300 exhibitions around the world. His work is represented in more than fifty museum collections, including leading institutions such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, the Victoria and Albert Museum, London, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, among many others.
