Vaclav Cigler underwent classic Czechoslovakian training at school in the Czech town of Nový Bor as well as the School of Applied Art in Prague. He established the Department of Architectural Glass at Bratislava Art Academy in Slovakia. Cigler currently works as an independent artist in Prague. His work is included in numerous museum collections, including Corning Museum of Glass, New York; Glasmuseet Ebeltoft, Ebeltoft, Denmark; Kunstsammlungen der Veste Coburg in Coburg, Germany; Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, France; Slovakian National Gallery, Bratislava, Slovakia; and the Victoria & Albert Museum, London.
