Livio Seguso, the brilliant Murano-based artist of contemporary glass, began working with glass early in his life. He apprenticed under Alfredo Barbini as a student and collaborator, and established his own studio where he combined entrepreneurial interests with sculpting activities. Later in his life he abandoned the legacy of the Murano tradition to embrace pure crystal with its transparent iridescence and ambiguity. His works have been exhibited internationally.
