A Reticulated Satsuma Vase
Meiji era (1868-1912), circa 1900
The ovoid vase painted in polychrome enamels and gilt, decorated with alternating oval panels of gatherings of beauties, and birds and flowers, alternating with reticulated sections resembling woven bamboo, the surrounding areas painted with blossoms scattered over floral reserves, the rim of the reticulated cover decorated to match, signed on the underside Ryōzan with the Yasuda Company mark and the mark of the Shimazu family
