George Washington (1732- 1799) Alexandria, Virginia Nov 15, 1785 Potomack Company purchase order with George Washington autograph, approving payment of a bill to the Potomac Company for saws, saw files, saw set, nails, and 2 barrels of rum (George Washington was the first president of the Potomac Company, formed to make improvements to the river), also signed by Gordon Chapin, John Fitzgerald for goods received from William Hartshorne, folds as issued, double framed, sight 5 3/4' x 7 1/4"
