**Originally Listed At $150**
Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A large leaded-bronze ring with a round bezel containing a bronze coin. The coin is inset in the center and has a low relief design, presumably an emperor's face in profile. The bezel has a carinated edge, and a thin shank is welded to the backside of the bezel. The shank and underside of bezel have developed mineral deposits and a rich patina. US ring size 8.5 but we do not recommend wearing, as it is fragile. Size of bezel: 1" diameter (2.5 cm); band opening: .75" W (1.9 cm)
Provenance: ex-estate of Eldert Bontekoe, Pegasi Numismatics, Ann Arbor, Michigan, USA acquired before 2000
