Montblanc fountain pen special edition of its collection 'Patrons of Art', pays tribute to Luciano Pavarotti (1935-2007), Italian tenor. Pavarotti became one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century thanks to his exceptional vocal tone in the world of opera. At the same time, he was also noted for his extravagance on stage, an influence that is reflected in this limited edition Montblanc.
The barrel and cap of the pen are made of black and white lacquered resin, the colours of the dinner jacket the artist wore for most of his concerts. The jewel on the cap is crowned by the emblematic star, a trademark of the house. On the other hand, the bib is made of red lacquered resin with floral motifs alluding to the Hawaiian shirts Pavarotti wore on stage. The shape of the gold-plated clip is a reference to the quirky scarves he wore. The five gold-plated rings on the body of the pen pay homage to the five famous operas that brought him fame: "Turandot", "La Bohème", "Rigoletto", "Un ballo in maschera" and "L'elisir d'amore". Finally, the gold nib is decorated with a bent nail, a lucky charm used by Pavarotti every time he went on stage.
