Description

Fabulous piece of pottery from art potter Harrison McIntosh (1914--2016). Footed stoneware bowl with incised outside lines accented with a matte black glaze with a mottled light tan inner glaze. Signed on bottom, last name signature used c1955 and retains original paper label.? Measures approx 5.5" tall x 12.5" wide McIntosh had a wonderfully long and illustrious career in pottery. He studied at various schools starting at Art Center Los Angeles (Art Center College of Design, Pasadena, today) in 1938 and ending schooling in 1952 at Claremont Graduate School. He also worked for Otis School of Design, as a studio potter in Claremont and as a designer at Mikasa.
