Numerous illustrations, numerous folding maps (some with coloring), EXTRA ILLUSTRATED BY THE ADDITION OF APPROXIMATELY 456 PLATES AND 17 DOCUMENTS (see below). (Some light toning and offsetting, minor tears to a few leaves.) Contemporary brown crushed levant gilt, top edges gilt, others uncut, STAMP-SIGNED BY THE HARCOURT BINDERY INC.
