American Carved Oak Side-by-Side Secretary Bookcase, c. 1900, the arched shelved crown backed with a wide beveled mirror, over an oval mirror hat box proper left above a slant lid secretary with an interior fitted with cubbyholes, open storage and one drawer, above a convex frieze drawer and two deep drawers flanked proper right with a curved glass bookcase with four shelves, on a plinth base on bracket feet, H.- 76 in., W.- 42 in., D.- 14 in.

This is a charming example in need of a few repairs. Crown details, curved glass, secretary, and mirrors are all intact. The oval mirror needs to be cleaned because there is some stray glue from an old repair that dripped onto the mirror in the upper right. In that same area, there is minor bubbling to the veneer. The handle hardware is missing from the door that the oval mirror is on. Inside that small cabinet with the oval mirror door, there is no back panel and it would need to be replaced. The secretary is sturdy, and the inside looks nice; the center small drawer inside the secretary works smoothly and appears to have been refinished at some point. Three lower drawers all work smoothly but there are no keys present for them. There are three shelves inside the curved case but the door is currently locked shut with no key present. Some areas of the piece would benefit from cleaning, and there are normal smaller signs of use like usual scuffs and nicks. ________________________________________________________________________________ ALL PROPERTY IS SOLD "AS IS."
