Condition
The painting is on a cradled panel that is stable. There is very fine craquelure in areas. There is frame abrasion along the edges. There is a 3 in. vertical line which appears to be an accretion in the lower right quadrant and visible in the illustration. Under UV lamp; a thick opaque varnish covers the composition but there does appear to be a touch of older restoration to the painting above the sitters in the upper left and to the drapery on the easel. A few other minor touches of repaint scattered in areas but difficult to be certain.
