"Red Fuscia". Pastel on paper. Estate stamp. Framed. While Gardiner is best known for her woodcuts, she was an expert draftswoman & watercolorist. Red Fuscia is a prime example. Today, Gardiner is considered one of the most prominent woodcut artists in America. She joined Provincetown printmakers in advancing American printmaking. Her scenes effortlessly capture people in endearing moments. A member of PAC, Providence Watercolor Club & California Printmakers Society. Her works are in many museum collections including a 1987 Newport Art Museum Exhibition, Master of the Woodblock.
