Artist Biography
Rowland Ricketts (b. 1971) is an American contemporary textile artist. He is Associate Dean and Professor in Fibers at the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design at Indiana University. He received his M.F.A. from Cranbrook Academy of Art in 2005, and from 1996-2003 studied traditional indigo farming and dyeing techniques in Japan. A recipient of the 2012 United States Artists Fellowship, Ricketts has had solo exhibitions at the Museum of Contemporary Craft, Portland, OR; the Newport Museum of Art, Newport, RI; and institutions in France and across the United States and Japan.
