Item Details
Description
Tokyo, Mid 19th century. The first, by Ko, a garden scene set among pine trees and ivy. The obverse is inlaid with a good pair of quail in gilded silver, the reverse shows a stone lantern and a woven basket in the trees. At the bottom center is a raised square tablet bearing a seal or kakihan showing a downward pointing three-lobed leaf surmounted by the two-stroke character yane. 1¾in (4.4cm). The second, the obverse shows a couple performing tea ceremony, inset in metal, in front of a house. Metalwork signed, Ryumin. The reverse depicts a stream. Signed on a raised tablet, Kogetsu. 1?in (4.1cm).
