- 3 owners brand new
- In the same collection for more than 10 years
- Well-restored example
- One of only 93 produced: rare to find and fun to drive
- Inspired by the legendary 1750 GS Zagato

Presented as a prototype on 17 April 1965 at the Saloncino dei Carrozzieri in Turin, the Alfa Romeo Gran Sport Quattroruote was the result of the visionary genius of Quattroruote editor Gianni Mazzocchi. The idea arose from the desire to reintroduce a car that was reminiscent in style and concept of the legendary 1750 GS Zagato that dominated racing 34 years earlier. The 1930s styling, the prestigious signature of Carrozzeria Zagato and the Giulia TI's twin-camshaft 1600 engine with 90 hp made the Gran Sport a car dedicated to a nostalgic public but eager to have a car that recalled Alfa Romeo's golden era.

Built on the Giulia Spider chassis lengthened by 35 centimetres, with standard suspension and the Giulietta's drum brakes, the Gran Sport boasts enviable dynamics for cars of the era. The Zagato's aluminium bodywork is almost faithful to the original except for the slightly widened track. With a list price of 2,360,000 lire, it was positioned between the newly introduced and more affordable Duetto and the exclusive Giulia Sprint GTC. Production ceased in 1967 after only 93 examples had been built: the price and spartan equipment made it a car for very few wealthy enthusiasts.

This Gran Sport Quattroruote was bought and registered on 9 August 1966 by a lady from Syracuse, who kept the car until it was bought in 2008 by the family that has preserved it to this day. Well restored, hard to find and in excellent condition and with a clear history from new, it is a car for connoisseurs and collectors, capable of appreciating the uniqueness of this splendid Zagato creation.
