The Defender has been a true icon. Robust, reliable, recognisable and a true ally to generations of craftsmen and off-road driving enthusiasts, it has over the years become a car that has transcended its origins as an industrial vehicle. Introduced in 1948 as Series I, it remained in production until 2016, until production ended at the historic factory in Solihull, England. Used as a civilian and military version and produced in a multitude of variants, it has served and will continue to serve a large number of professionals for years to come. The 2-litre petrol engine version equipped the vehicles of the Italian Army and Carabinieri Corps. Interesting and sought-after to this day, it is a choice for connoisseurs.

This 1997 example served for years as a training car at the Carabinieri School in Benevento. Kworks, a company specialising in customising Defenders, recently carried out a series of customisations to give this legendary Land Rover an appealing face. Specifically, the car has undergone a total repaint and a new interior in leather, original Burberry fabric and cherry wood inserts. The bodywork was customised with Series III doors and grilles and LED headlights, while the mechanics underwent a general overhaul and the following work was carried out:

- New timing belt
- New cylinder head and general seals
- Replacement of new shock absorbers
- Replacement of bushings
- New light levers
- New indicator levers
- Reconditioned steering box
- Electrical system overhauled

Ready for its second life as a pure fun car, it is an example of eye-catching customisation on a true icon.
