Portrait of George Washington
Canvas has been wax relined. Evidence of inpainting present under UV at upper left forehead, right cheek, and lower right chin, as well as scattered strokes throughout the face. Some inpaitng also present on extreme edges and in margins. A heavy green varnish around the face and in the margins inhibits a thorough reading. Please see specialist photos for details.
Portrait of Martha Washington
Canvas has been relined. Evidence of inpatining present under UV at upper center and left forehead, left cheek and across the chin. Small scattered strokes present throughout the kercheif. In painting also scattered in the margins and at extreme edges. A heavy green varnish inhitbits a thorough reading. Please see specialist photos for details.
