First American Edition. 8vo. Blue cloth and dust jacket. Signed by Watson and Crick on the front free endpaper. (2) Signed photograph of Maurice Wilkins with his family. Verso of photograph with copyright marks from Swede. Trimmed along right, with Wilkins son George added to left side (from posture he would have been on the right holding his father hand) for a tight photograph that was used in the newspaper. James D. Watson, along with Francis Crick and Maurice Wilkins, were awarded the 1962 Nobel Prize for Physiology or Medicine "for their discoveries concerning the molecular structure of nucleic acids and its significance for information transfer in living material".
