Group Of 2 Early European Torture Instruments circa 17th - 18th century including a garrote with wooden handles and spliced rope and a tongue tearer retaining a brass Coward collection tag and listed as #136 in the The Royal Castle of Nuremberg catalogue (included). Both pieces with distinctive yellow catalogue numbers from the Nuremberg.

Ex. The Royal Castle of Nuremberg Collection
Arne Coward (1920 - 1979) operated the Museum Macabre in Honolulu Hawaii from 1960 to his death in 1979. In addition to housing the largest private collection of authentic torture equipment it was well known as a source for fine oceanic art, oddities and antiquities.
