Ancient Pre-columbian Colima Figure from West Mexico, ca. 100 B.C.-250 A.D. Size 6 inches high. Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima ca 100 BC to 250 AD. A nice Colima figure of a standing man depicted with wide hips, broad shoulders and crossed arms, wearing a wrapped headdress, stripped loin cloth. His abstract visage is composed of coffee bean shaped eyes, and a prominent nose. These figures are often referred to as “gingerbread” figures. Provenance: EX: Seymour collection acquired the collection in the 1970's, Ex: Estate of Leonard Davis deceased 2005, Gifted to Leonard Davis from Margaret Reisberg.
