Description
German Hand Painted Porcelain Plaque of Queen Louise of Prussia (1776-1810), known as the Venus of Mecklenburg; signed indistinctly lower right; verso inscribed "Koenigin Louise". After the original portrait painting by Gustav Carl Ludwig Richter of 1879, now in the collection of Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, Germany. Framed. Provenance: Ex collection of Dr. Horacio Fabrega, Pittsburgh, PA. Size: 8.5'' x 5.5'', 22 x 14 cm (plaque); 10'' x 7'', 25 x 18 cm (frame).
