Publisher:
Date Published: Mid 19th c.?
Description:
1 page, with about 10 pages supporting documentation and photocopies. 33x22 cm (13x8¾), items housed in plastic sheets and laid in one folder.
Manuscript document from the Mexican national archives produced in response to a request for records by prominent residents of San Jose, including Manuel Antonio Chaboya, Manuel Butron, and Antonio Rochin. The group had enquired whether the archive had any documentation about the particulars of land distribution among the original settlers of San Jose, particulars which may have been useful in settling land disputes that these residents encountered as the government of California changed hands throughout the 19th century. The archivist was unable to produce specific documentation other than already known reports without the information requested. The document is unsigned and undated; dating inferred from names listed on document.
