Description
Wyoming Valley, Iowa County [Wisconsin.] April 1, 1850. Autograph letter signed by Rev. A. D. Laughlin. 4to, 3 pp. ********* Letter from an early Wisconsin settler, Rev. A. D. Laughlin, and sent from an area that he named. The area known as Wyoming Valley was so named after a remark by Laughlin that it reminded him of the Wyoming Valley in Pennsylvania, where he was born. The present letter bears an early Wisconsin postmark. Accompanied by a complete transcription of the lengthy letter. The letter is written to a Rev. Charles Hall, and it describes the death of a member of the church and various labors undertaken in performance of his ministerial duties.

Creased, as folded. Second leaf with small chip to margin.
