The cluster of buildings overshadowed by the very steep hills, with veritable mountains on the other side of the bay, numerous sailing ships docked and at anchor. An interesting if not very accurate view. 'Published by the Author of 'Sights in the Gold Region &c.' for Henry Bill, No. 81 Cliff St. New York" beneath title, copyrighted by Theodore T. Johnson, author of the above referenced work. One of several editions of the view. Reps 247. Provenance: Charles A. Fracchia Collection.
