The porcelain potted into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue color, depicted of lotus flowers blooms interspersed foliage and scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.The Shoulder-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark. Made in The Years of XuanDe Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
