Chinese Qing Dynasty YongZheng Blue and White Lotus Porcelain Plate. The plates has a broad wide central interior, round mouth lip, raised on correspondence footed ring base slight concave. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in clean white base color which contrast against blue fine color, depicted of abundant lotus blossom interspersed scrolling interlocking tendril. Lotus is one of the most significant flowers in the Chinese culture. It symbolizes the holy seat of Buddha. Because the flower rises from the mud and blooms in exquisite beauty it symbolizes perfection and purity of both the heart and mind. It also represents long life and honour. The lotus flower is depicted in Chinese art, poetry and architecture.The Under-base bears a reign mark, a six under glazed red script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings. Made in The Years of YongZheng Reign Period of The Great Qing Dynasty.
