Large framed numbered print by Aboriginal Australian artist Shirley Purdie, entitled "Manunggoo Country". According to the description from Waringarri Aboriginal Arts, "This print shows Manunggoo country along the Chamberlain River near Bedford Downs Station in Western Australia. This was the artist's grandparent's country and is part of her traditional country today. in the print the river is shown as a series of sinuous lines at the bottom. Above it are a series of waterholes (shown as circles) which are left in the riverbed in the dry season when the river dries up. Above them are the dome shaped rocks and a range of hills can be seen at the top. A bit further upriver from this place lives a watersnake who can make a giant whirlpool in the fiver which drags people into his cave where he swallows them." Signed and numbered in pencil 12/20.
