Egypt, Late Dynastic Period, 26th to 31st Dynasty, ca. 664 to 332 BCE. A gorgeous hand-carved alabaster bowl presenting a circular base and thick walls that rise to an annular, flared rim. The stone surface of the vessel features beautiful natural horizontal striations of butterscotch, misty rose, chocolate brown, and cream. A stunning example from Late Dynastic Egypt! Size: 3.25" in diameter x 1.25" H (8.3 cm x 3.2 cm)
Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York.
