Description
Bronze casting with green patina depicting Shiva and Parvati according to the traditional iconography of Umamaheswara. Shiva is seated in ardhaparyanka on a single lotus flower base that rests itself on a tiered throne. His two main arms hold his consort, seated on his left knee, while in the hands of his two secondary arms Shiva holds two of his attributes: the trident (trisula) and the drum ( damaru ).Both deities are supported by their respective vehicles visible under their right feet, respectively: the buffalo Nandi for Shiva and the lion Navratri for Parvati. The composition is completed with the inclusion of the couple's two sons: Ganesh on the right and Karttikaya on the left, both completing the sacred family.
Condition
Good condition consistent with age: usual wears and chips and a dent with a small broken and missing part at front of the base.
