Paperback edition of the unit history of the 92nd Infantry Division, The 92nd Infantry Division was the only African-American infantry division that participated in combat in Europe during World War II. It was part of the U.S. Fifth Army, fighting in the Italian Campaign and serving from 1944 to the war's end. The approx. 120pp. 8vo. book, published ca. October, 1945, is heavily illustrated with photographs showing the soldiers during training at Fort Huachuca, deployment near Leghorn, and their combat exploits northward, up the Italian peninsula. Images show the men in combat, wounded, taking German prisoners, etc. A file hole in one corner penetrates the book, else very good.
