Description
An Imperial Japan commemorative bronze medal, 2 in. dia., honoring Samurai Kusunoki Masashige who fought for Emperor Go-Daigo to restore power to the Imperial Court during the Kamakura period. The obverse features an image in relief depicting Masashige in full samurai dress on his horse. Untranslated Kanji characters are displayed above the image. The image is an exact replica of a statue of Misashige that stands outside of the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. The reverse shows a Japanese landscape. Presented in its original box. Light tarnish throughout, else very good.
