Chinese Ming Dynasty Underglaze Red Flower Porcelain Plate. The plate has a broad wide central interior, flori form rim, thick and large, raised on correspondence slightly concave footed ring base. Hand painted ornamentations are rendered in white base color which contrast against red color, depicted of flowers bloom interspersed foliage and interlocking scrolling tendril. It was originated in the Qing Dynasty. The red color of the packet symbolizes good luck, corresponding with fire, symbolizes good fortune and joy. The underside unglazed, revealed the pale-creme ground revealed and dark greyish brown spotted firing marks and edge-cut foot rim.
