Publisher’s pictorial buff wrappers. Diagrams in text. 12mo. p. [1 – 5], 6 – 71, [72]. Dog-eared corners, wraps weak but holding, corner chips, general wear; good. Folding paper case. Toole Stott 27. An American reprint of the eighty fourth edition issued in England, produced for Anderson’s first world tour. This example bears the name of the printer on the title page verso: “Brown, Printer, Ledger Building, Philadelphia.” The cover bears a contemporary note in the upper margin in pencil that accedes with many reviews of Anderson as both a conjuror and a thespian: “A good magician, but a bad actor.”
