The Hunting of the Snark: An Agony in Eight Fits by Lewis Carroll. First Edition. MacMillan and Co., 1876. Nine illustrations by Henry Holiday. Publisher's original pictorial boards.

"The Hunting of the Snark" is a a whimsical and nonsensical narrative poem that follows a group of travelers on a journey to hunt for a creature called the Snark. The poem is known for its playful and often surreal imagery, as well as its use of wordplay and clever rhymes. The poem is also notable for its exploration of themes such as the search for meaning and the dangers of blindly pursuing an elusive goal. The poem is often considered a satire on the absurdity of the Victorian era and a classic of children's literature.

Very good condition. Shelf wear. Spine slightly cocked. Corners bowed. Front endpapers have a few fox dots. Text pages for the most part clean. Pencil writing on the rear free-enpaper.
