Description
Interborough Rapid Transit Company Ticket Chopper - New York Subway System - Early Mass Transit Beautiful wood, glass and steel ticket chopper machine built by the Interborough Rapid Transit Company and Ingersoll-Sargent. These machines were found in many famous American mass transit systems including the New York Subway and more. This machine measures 15 3/4" square and 49 1/2" tall with the exception of the chopper handle which protrudes farther out from the machine. The machine has some mild corner wear, but is otherwise in very good condition with good glass, hardware and wooden cabinet. The embossed manufacturing information on the top lip of the machine has some wear, but is still mostly legible. This machine likely dates before 1920 when many of these were replaced with coin operated turnstiles. See photos for best description. Please note that this is not a standard shippable item. This lot may be picked up in Lafayette Indiana or we can ship across the United States via our inhouse freight department.
