Description
From the personal collection of Sonia Rivelli, this beautiful Louis XV period cartel dating from approx the 18th century. It features gilded bronzes chiseled with floral accents and a dog and a bird interacting on the front. The background is green lacquered with decorations of foliage and flowers. Stamped Lieutaud Paris on the clock mechanisms when the back of the clock is opened. Lieutaud is a French master cabinetmaker and supplier to the Royal Court at the time. This clock is one of 3 clocks, 1 is at the Lourve, 1 was destroyed in a museum fire, and this one resides at the Estate of Sonia Rivelli in Las Vegas, NV. Condition of the clock is associated with aging. Some loose bronze accents. Clock is functional with a manual winding mechanism, included. Has extra glass panel for the sides as well as a Foucault pendulum which is not attached but can be installed.
