Description
A most beautiful of table cloths. This skillfully made cherished piece is a wonderful example of Italian figural with hand embroidery, point de venise needlelace and Italian made lace filet work, openwork or cutwork and hand embroidered floral needlework. The lovely figural filet is striking with horses and medieval folks.
This large antique Italian lace table cloth has a fabulous design in filet of horse riders, cherubs, winged angels, flower urns, flower bouquets in point de venise needlelace and lovely floral garland swag filet details surrounding the whole center linen area. The stitches are skillfully worked into the linen with the precise raised satin stitches, with cutwork/openwork incorporated into the scroll work. The raised work is excellent. The point de venise needlelace is tight with very well formed designs.
