Featured in this lot we have a framed C M Russell painting calendar from 1946. Charles Marion Russell, born March 19th, 1864 in St. Louis Missouri and died on October 24, 1926 in Great Falls Montana. Russell is known for his paintings of cowboys, Indians, and western landscapes, as well as crafting bronze sculptures. This piece shows the C M Russell painting "When the Nose of a Horse Beats the Eyes of a Man", depicting a frontiersman getting diverted by his horse, due to a bear behind the bend. The calendar serves as advertising for "M. & M." out of Butte, Montana. The calendar was for the year 1946. Overall, the piece shows very good condition, showing minimal edge wear to the top left. The calendar and print are behind glass and framed in a wooden frame. The calendar piece measures 18" L x 20 3/4" W.
