After Wilhelm Lehmbruck 1881 Duisburg - 1919 Berlin Bust of Kneeling Woman (Tilted Head of Woman) Bronze, patinated; H 42.5 cm; inscribed; based on the main work from 1912/14, executed in different materials (cf. Schubert 61); 1910-14 Lehmbruck stayed in Paris, where he exhibited his ''Knieende'' at the Salon d'Automne in Paris in 1911, with which he was represented two years later at the Armory Show in New York, Boston and Chicago. As with the ''Grosse Sinnenden'', he also executed partial views of the ''Knieenden'' as a torso or bust, which he, like Rodin, regarded as independent works; Catalogue raisonne Schubert 61; Posthumous cast after 1945 based on a design by Wilhelm Lehmbruck from 1912/14
