L’Automirage S.r.l. di Bologna S.r.l. con sede in Via Mazzini, a Bologna 55, era un’azienda italiana specializzata soprattutto nella realizzazione di Dune Buggies su base Volkswagen. Nel 1974 presentò la 595 Pickwick, una particolare Dune Buggy all’italiana disegnata dall’eclettico Alberto Rubbini e realizzata sul pianale della 500 e spinta dal motore Fiat tipo 126A.046 da 23 cavalli e 594cc della 126. Grazie alle leggerissima carrozzeria in vetroresina, il peso a vuoto è di soli 450 kg, che diviene di 610 kg a pieno carico. La Pickwick aveva una velocità massima di 112,4 km/h.
La sospensione anteriore è a ruote indipendenti con bracci oscillanti a balestra trasversale così come anche quella posteriore, che è a ruote indipendenti con bracci oscillanti e molle ad elica.
Questo esemplare del 1976 si presenta in condizioni di assoluta originalità ed è ancora caratterizzata della sua prima vernice: mantiene i sedili, il volante, il pomello del cambio e la tappezzeria originali, mentre la capote è stata sostituita con un’altra in anni recenti. I tappetini, oramai introvabili sono ancora marchiati con il logo della casa Madre. Certificata ASI targa Oro, questa Pickwick rappresenta un’occasione rara per acquisire un’auto apprezzata da quei intenditori e appassionati che sono in cerca di rarità e originalità

Automirage S.r.l. of Bologna S.r.l., located at 55 Via Mazzini, Bologna, was an Italian company specialising mainly in the production of Volkswagen-based Dune Buggies. In 1974 it presented the 595 Pickwick, a peculiar Italian-style 'Dune Buggy' designed by the eclectic Alberto Rubbini and built on the floorpan of the 500 and powered by the 23-horsepower, 594 cc Fiat type 126A.046 engine. Thanks to the lightweight fibreglass body, the unladen weight was only 450 kg, which became 610 kg when fully loaded. The Pickwick had a top speed of 112.4 km/h.

The front suspension is independent-wheel suspension with transverse leaf springs as is the rear suspension, which is independent-wheel suspension with swing arms and propeller springs.

This 1976 example is in pristine condition and still has its original paintwork: it retains its original seats, steering wheel, gear knob and upholstery, while the soft top was replaced with another in recent years. The floor mats, now impossible to find, are still marked with the company logo.
