In need of restoration. It has cracks in the wood and lack of polychromy.

Russian icon which contains different scenes from the life of Christ, framed by figures of saints and archangels: the visit to the temple, the passage of Saint Anne, the meeting of Jesus with the fishermen whom he invites to "be fishers of men"... The juxtaposition of different biblical episodes nourishes the composition with iconographic richness. Despite the variety of themes, everything is subsumed under a symmetrical order, around the vertical axis traced by the Father and Son housed in mandorlae. Legends in Cyrillic identify the figures. The gilding, the intense chromaticism and the stylised drawing that outlines each figure, as well as the brocade and other details, are elements that remain faithful to the tradition of Orthodox icons.
