Large STANDARD DICTIONARY OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE, complete in one volume; New York, Funk & Wagnalls Co., 1897; also having an abridged cyclopedia with atlas of the world; half bound leather; spine with raised bands, gilt lettering and gilt decoration; marbled endpapers; approx. 10"W, 12 3/4"H, 4 7/8"D; good overall condition with normal wear to edges, a few interior pages with tears to edges---2. THE HISTORY OF THE CIVIL WAR IN AMERICA, Volume I, by John S. C. Abbott; published by Henry Bill, New York, 1863; illustrated with maps, diagrams and numerous steel engravings of battle scenes and portraits of distinguished men; embossed leather boards with gilt lettering to spine, marbled endpapers and edges; 6 1/2"W, 9 3/4"H; front cover partially separated from spine and both separating from binding, interior with some foxing (Ref. 26)
