A PAIR OF FRENCH RENAISSANCE STYLE ARMCHAIRS
19th Century, France
The pair of French Victorian style carved oak armchairs, feature a spandrel crest rail and coordinating hand carved details. One features a womans face flanked by rosettes and presented on an elongated tablet form with flanking double reverse folds. The mate with a mythilogical style male face within a roundel and flanked by winged creatures. Both chairs having an ""H"" style stretcher of turned block and spindle form.
