Pair of French style walnut caned confessional bergeres or wingback armchairs in the Regency taste, each having a shaped crest and apron with shell and acanthus leaf detail, loose back and seat cushion, and rising on cabriole legs with whorl feet, apparently unmarked.

Approximate dimensions: h. 42", w. 27.5", d. 25.5"; seat h. 15.5" (excluding cushion)

Provenance: The Collection of Jerome and Bridget Dobson, Atlanta, GA.

Condition

Some breaks to caning, stains to cushions, joint separation due to shrinkage, frames are structurally sound.
