Set of two small vintage Wedgwood jasperware trays, c.1950s-1970s, England. The green tray with Nica in a chariot fighting Titan; and the blue jasperware with Asclepius showing to the student the healing powers from a snake.

Both trays are the same size, 6" x c.3.1/4" [15.2cm x 9.6cm]; fine condition.

Jasperware is a type of pottery first developed by Josiah Wedgwood in the 1770s. This beautiful pattern has a matte base layer with raised, usually white, decorations. The base layer is often light blue, but it can also be green, black, dark blue, yellow, and other shades. It has an unglazed matte "biscuit" finish and is produced in a number of different colors, of which the best known is a pale blue that is known as Wedgwood Blue.
