Description

66. RARE 1854 AMERICAN BOXED SET "FANNY GRAY" BY CROSBY NICHOLS. Box size is appx. 6 3/4" x 8 1/4", height of figures varies depending on costume, from 4 1/2" to 6". Lot includes box with elaborate lithographed cover design and small image of Fanny Gray feeding the chickens. Inside the box, Fanny head with five costumes illustrating various parts of the storyline from the book "Fanny Gray, History of Her Life" (included). Also included is a 6" x 8" background depicting the cottage where Fanny lived. Commentary: Costumes in very good condition, Fanny head has repair at neck, box has the sides bent/broken and front scuffed. Background has minor bend at top and some discoloration. Estimate: $200/400.
