Likely Florida Lucretia (Starr) Brown/Manny (1842-1909), who married John P. Manny after her first husband, Addison Brown (Lieutenant-Colonel, 5th Vermont Volunteer Infantry), died at a young age, likely due to illness and injury he sustained during his service in the Civil War. Her father, Melancthon Starr, was a business partner of Mannys.

John Pels Manny (1823-1897) was an American businessman and inventor. Most notably, he collaborated with his cousin John Henry Manny (1825–1856) on the designs of the Manny Reaper, though John Henry is remembered as the primary inventor.
